Tolerance and Argument

Friends, this week we are going to discuss whether India is soft state or not?
In the course of action many questions are likely to arise such as-
What does "soft" state mean?
Why or why not shall we term India a soft state?
What are the upsides and downsides of living in a soft state?
Is this so called "soft" term related to India being a Democracy?
Is this so called "soft" term related to Judicial processing?

We shall discuss these and more. Why?
Because, in order to exercise our rights we need to fulfill our duties first.
We are youth. Our country right now has the largest number of young people.
But, what does being young mean? What is the border line between young and old?

We become old when we stop learning, when we stop arguing.

India has a history full of arguments. Arguments over Religion & Divinity. Arguments over Justice and Punishment. Arguments over power and governance. Now it is our duty to learn and question. Its the time to stop and argue, not the time to shrug it off and move ahead.
India also has a history of Tolerance. We are tolerant people. Our culture is the most tolerant culture. India never invaded any country. It accepted all religions and cultures that it interacted with and allowed them to flourish. None of this Tolerance was without Argument. Tolerance and argument went hand in hand. We never accepted anything without asking questions first. But, what we see now is our argument standing against our tolerance. We see injustice, improper governance, inability of the government to make bold decisions and still do nothing about it. We have started tolerating without asking questions first. We know that something isn't right but, are afraid or too busy to ask. That is why India has been termed as a soft state. Asking & arguing was second nature to us but we have let it slip away. We have become soft. And our government being democratic is a reflection of its people. Do I need to say more?

Conclusion of GD-2

Main points and conclusions came out of the GD-2 on the topic: "no valentine's day"- should they decide it ??

a. "They" were finally rose up as the so callled moral police(political parties like Shiv Sena, Bajrang dal), Orthodox people around us and care takers of our society.

b. Social cum moral police interrupt the normal convention not just for saving the culture and tradition, but also for the welfare of their political motives.

c. Public showcase of affection in parks and places beyond limits is no way acceptable in a country like India. Our respect is in our hands. No one can point us when we are true to ourselves in our hearts.

d. Orthodoxy is a part and parcel of our social system. We have to abide by the norms and limits, which is good up to some extent.

e. Changes are needed, we cant follow some of the conventions, which in fact are not possible to follow in an age where we have touched the sky beyond the sky-limits. Things like "Bramcharya" etc...

f. Things in our culture are looked upon to be changing with time. It will take time and positively in our times, when we'll be having our own children, valentine n all would be normal.

g. We should be aware of the LAWS and RIGHTS of ours, given to us by Govt. of India herself. That could really help us to raise our voice against anything wrong.

h. It's shameful, but being youth we are not united. At times we also turn out wrong but where we need some of the unity, to show who we are actually and what we can do, we just fail to use our right of speech.

Still... after all the discussion we had... I personally think we need to be true to ourselves. Unless and until we do it. We will be forced to work in accordance with "They" we talked about all the discussion.

Happy life!!

Do visit GD every time !!

What is RAY(Rational Association of Youth) ??

We are basically college students. And we are just trying to make a change in the society by simply contributing, being an individual, with a of knowledge full of brain and simultaneously helping in to remove the ignorance in ourselves.

...."Ignorance" ....
Ignorance we showcase towards ourselves(as an individual), our surroundings, our environment, our society, our rights, our system and all of the above all OUR POWER, the Youth Power ...

As a youth of India, we are supposed to know each and everything side of the cube about all the inside things going on in my country.. in the system of it or outside of it. But we all hardly bother about all this things happening around thinking
"How come it will affect me?" and carrying a "It's never going to change - attitude" towards everything around us...

So basically keeping all of it in our mind we have started a organization called "Rational Association of Youth(R.A.Y.)",  started in our own college itself(Lovely Professional University) !!

Initially it is moving on with  Group Discussions Sessions, which happens time after time.. we encourage interested participants , rather welcome them, to come and attend the session. We decide a topic for discussion, organize a venue and a opt timing. We are always accompanied by Mr. Vimal, working as a senior faculty in the our university itself.. apart from it, a genius personality. He accompanies us, gives the GD a unidirectional flow and finally concludes the GD with a opt result, on which we could start working upon !!

"The greed is all for a change... a change that can result a better place to live, better place to live happily --- how so ever it may take place!"

This is all about our organization !!

Thanks a ton for going through it!!

Interested students are always welcomed to attend the GD .. all useful info is available 24X7 on the address

Shrinking outfits or shrunken outlooks?

Hello everyone, as all of you know;
We are organising another GD this Friday on a very popular and highly debatable topic.
No "Valentine's day" , should THEY decide it?
Now, whenever we talk about Valentine's day we talk about modernization.
Globalization came with modernization and westernization, you see its a package deal!
We have been using these terms as synonyms for two decades. And the younger generation of this country has always been blamed with adapting "western culture" blindly. The effect can be observed in our changed eating habits and changed clothing. We are regarded as fashion frenzied people. Brands are infecting our day to day lives. But we are still way behind developed nations. What is the reason behind it?
Is it the corrupt politics of India?
Or is it red-tapism, bureaucracy?
the faulty education system, or something else?
Where exactly lies the root of all evil happening right now in our country?
If we thoroughly self-inspect we may find that the root of all evil lies in our minds and hearts and so does the cure. We are still chasing each other in a rat-race. Running after God-knows-what. We are too lazy to find an answer so feed on whatever satisfies us.
We will talk about gender equality and women empowerment all the time but still practice or promote "Dowry", child-marriage and female infanticide. The office-going class is diseased too. Men feel ashamed to work under a female boss, harass their junior and co-working females. In the name of Indian culture men are the first to raise an objection on the dressing sense or style of a girl wearing western outfits. And still we call ourselves advanced, modern, trendy.
There is a class of youth celebrating "valentine's day" with full vigor and another class against this celebration. Why so much chaos over a day that spells love?
I want to say more but first I want to hear what my friends have to say.
Please comment and do come to the GD if You can.
